ABOUT THE ARTIST & THE BLOG

Welcome to my first blog post! I am Kasey Lorelle Cwynar-Foye: The Modern Artist. Like many a millennial during a global pandemic, I have decided to make a blog. I know - so predictable. Just know that it is my hope that I may separate myself in some capacity from the rest.

The idea to start a blog first came to me when I was creating my website to promote my music and teaching career. I am a classically trained vocalist with a Bachelors and Masters from the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Unfortunately I graduated in 2020; ie the year of Covid-19. Because performing in public has essentially become illegal, I through myself into my website design out of need for a creative outlet. As I designed, I realized something was missing.

Yes, I am a musician and music teacher, but I am much more than that; I am a story teller, poet, actress, dancer, yogini, book collector, listener, doodler...the list goes on. It could be easy to put myself in a box, to say I am just an Opera singer...or a Musical Theater actress...a Jazz vocalist or voice teacher. But the truth is, as an optimistic creative in the twenty-first century, I have found passion in so many differing avenues as the revolving door of opportunity opens and closes over and over.

So, here I am, creating a blog! Composing a place that will allow me to freely explore my passions in and outside of music; a safe space for me to share my thoughts, feelings, and perspectives on whatever comes to mind. So, welcome to my tiny corner of the web where I can be The Modern Artist.
